- Data
- SATP major incidents, January 2005 to 25 May 2014, plus 22 attacks it misses, from news reports.

- Same rules and circle scale as map 9. Starts after the PWG and MCC merged into CPI-Maoist; ends the day before the BJP government took office.
564 attacks between January 2005 and May 2014 killed 4,446 people. The People’s War Group and the Maoist Communist Centre merged into CPI-Maoist in September 2004, and Maoist violence in the central and eastern forests peaked in 2009–2010 with the Dantewada ambush and the Gyaneshwari Express derailment. The same years brought a wave of bombings in the cities, from Delhi in 2005 through the Mumbai train bombings and the November 2008 Mumbai attacks to Hyderabad in 2013. The list is the South Asia Terrorism Portal’s record of major incidents in India, those with three or more deaths, with reports of one attack in the same district within four days merged. Attacks launched by militants are kept; security-force operations, encounters started by troops, firing across the Line of Control, riots and fighting between militant groups are left out. Circle area is people killed, not counting the attackers, on the same scale as every other attack map in the atlas.
