- Same rules and circle scale as map 4. Reports of one attack in the same district within four days are merged, keeping the highest toll.
1,322 attacks between 2007 and 2014 killed 11,094 people, not counting the attackers. From the Lal Masjid siege to the Peshawar school attack, the years when the Pakistani Taliban were strongest. The list is the South Asia Terrorism Portal’s record of major incidents, those with three or more deaths, plus 17 deadly attacks it misses, taken from Wikipedia’s yearly lists. Attacks launched by militants are kept; security-force operations, drone strikes, militant infighting, tribal feuds and party or ethnic violence in Karachi are left out. Each circle sits at the named village or town where one could be matched, otherwise at the district.

- Attacks with one or two deaths are not in the source list, so the map undercounts the total toll. SATP’s list is thin before 2004.
- A group is named only when it claimed the attack or was blamed in the report; most attacks in these years were never claimed, so the grey share is large.
- The former tribal areas (FATA) are counted separately in the province totals, as they were administered then; they are drawn inside today’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
