The base list is the South Asia Terrorism Portal’s major incidents for India, with the same rules. Five attacks it misses, including the 2021 Tekalguda ambush, were added after checking news reports. Clashes between armed groups in Manipur, riots and security-force operations are left out.

- The source list keeps far fewer Indian than Pakistani incidents, and records Manipur’s 2023 conflict mostly as clashes and riots, so the Manipur toll here is a small part of the deaths there.
- The Red Fort blast uses the NIA count of 10 civilians killed; early reports gave 13.
